Our History
Agawam Trust and Management and its predecessors have been serving trust clients for over 85 years, covering five generations. The firm is part of the legacy of William Alfred Paine, founder of Paine Webber and Co. He had created many trusts during his lifetime, and left a large and complex estate. A family trust office was formed to provide support for the trustees in managing the family's financial affairs.
In recent years, our services have been made available to non-family clients. To better serve an expanding number of accounts, the original family office was organized into three closely related, family-owned businesses:
